Jon
was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico many, many moons ago! While
growing up in Albuquerque, Jon made frequent trips to the family
cabin on Vallecito Lake. His love for the Durango area began
at an early age and has continued to this day.
Jon
attended the University of New Mexico, obtaining a BS degree
in biology. His first career was as head of the microbiology
lab at an Albuquerque hospital. He also served as the hospital
epidemiologist, or infection control person. After 10 years
of working in a hospital setting, Jon made the life-changing
decision to move to Bayfield and begin building homes with
his friend, Jerry Jehl. Jerry had the building |
experience
and Jon the business sense. The two went on to form
Pine River Solar, a building company specializing in passive
solar construction. The partnership continued for several years,
with the partners building in both Bayfield and Durango. The
two eventually decided to follow different paths and the partnership
was dissolved.
Jon
has now been building in La Plata County for 29 years. He understands
the importance of keeping current on new trends and technologies
and attends several local and national building conferences
each year. In addition, he has been a member of the Home Builder's
Association of Southwest Colorado (HBASC) since it's inception
in 1995. In 2003, Jon served as president of the HBASC. He is
active in the community and has served on several committees
in Durango throughout the years. Jon has many fine homes and
more importantly, many satisfied customers. Please take the time

Jon
is an avid skier and tennis player. He has also recently taken
up golf and is still learning to come to terms with the frustrating
side of that game! Jon and his wife, Gail, have raised their
3 children in Southwest Colorado. It is a wonderful place to
live, and play. If you are thinking of moving to the area,

Since
graduating from college, Jonathan has joined his father in
the business and offers his own fresh perspective and expertise.
In May 2006, Jonathan graduated from the University of San
Diego with a degree in Business Administration
and an emphasis in Finance, He later obtained his real estate
license as well. Jonathan
has become invaluable in the office as well as on the job
site. When not working, Jonathan enjoys mountain biking,
water skiing, playing tennis, and downhill skiing at both
Purgatory and Silverton Mountain.
